Harris Installation Services is proud to be the first Office furniture installation and removal company to achieve the prestigious FORS Gold accreditation. As leading office furniture and removal specialist based in central London, we are proud to be setting the gold standard for our trade in the UK. Becoming FORS Gold accredited makes us one of less than 700 FORS Gold accredited companies across the whole of the UK, just 9% of all FORS members in the country are Gold accredited. The Gold standard is mostly held by specialist transport companies and due to the number of vehicle upgrades and monitoring systems required, it is rarely achieved outside of the haulage industry.

Director of Harris Installation Services, Phil Harris, explains how FORS has been beneficial to his company.

We first came across the FORS scheme when tendering for work in London. After seeing multiple companies in our profession displaying their accreditation, we took the step and became Bronze accredited in 2009.

Once Bronze accredited, we found many clients were insisting that contractors are made by at the very least Silver compliant operators. We made the step to being Silver accredited in 2010, demonstrating the efforts and improvements made. Looking ahead, we believe that soon clients will be expecting FORS Gold as a minimum and with the role out of the programme nationwide, we felt achieving FORS Gold was the next step for our company.

We feel by achieving FORS Gold, we can be seen as a company that has the highest standards of fleet transport, environmental factors (fuel efficiency and emissions), safety considerations and general operations. This combination of elements sets the standard for businesses within the transport and fleet sectors.

Described as recognising exemplary levels of compliance in safety, fuel efficiency and environmental protection, Gold is the highest accreditation awarded by FORS (the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) and is presented only to “exceptional fleet operations that have met exacting targets”.

At Harris Installation Services, all of our fleet meet FORS Gold vehicle requirements, which ensures each vehicle is fitted with enhanced safety features from safety bars to full camera systems. This means that the highest specification safety and compliance features are fitted within the vehicles themselves. Additionally, our clients can benefit from highly skilled and experienced team which have received training in line with FORS Gold standards.
